What is Kiddy Jam
Kiddy
Jam was conceived and created by Paula Johnson two years after the birth
of her second son. With
a six year difference between her boys, she felt that there was a niche in
the market for a preschool television show geared towards interactivity as
it relates to movement, dance and music that both children and parents
could enjoy. Her sons showed
an early interest in a variety of music
so
naturally as co-creator of such dance oriented shows as X-tendamix and
Damix, seen on the Muchmusic Network, throughout the 1990s and early
2000s, it was a labour of love once again to create a dynamic music based
show such as Kiddy Jam.
Many
months before shooting in 2007 she began creating and producing the music
for the show. With her husband, former Muchmusic VJ, Tony ‘Master T’
Young beside her, they began auditioning potential hosts for the pilot.
Young brings his 20 years of experience and professionalism in
television production to the show, while editing and postproduction are
done in house by Paula and her team.
Kiddy Jam hopes is to educate and impact a new amazing generation of kids and their parents through the power of music.
It has universal appeal, paired with fresh new music, spontaneous dance, creative play that challenges kids to think and express themselves as well as great new videos and stimulating hip performers.
